
Become a Teacher?
To apply as a teacher, please follow these steps:
- Submit an application on salvatorelingo.com/teach (via a computer or laptop, not available on the phone or app). Applicants will be notified of the result within 10 business days.
- Complete the following onboarding process within 15 calendar days upon receiving a pre-approval email.
- Upload your identity document ()
- Watch the Teacher Success tutorial videos
- Complete the guided tutorials to set up your account
- Pass the quizzes.
After you have completed the onboarding process and finished setting up your account you are ready to go!
A few tips:
- Before you apply, please check which teacher type you want to apply for. You can only choose one teacher type.
Difference between Professional Teacher and Community Tutor
If you first apply to become a Community Tutor, you can later upgrade to Professional Teacher.
Can a Community Tutor upgrade to a Professional Teacher?
- As a teacher, you need to have the minimum requirements for technology.
What are the technology requirements for salvatore teachers?
- Once you’ve submitted your application, you can’t edit or cancel it unless you contact salvatore Support.

- Once you’ve become a teacher, you can update your profile such as your intro video, adding another teaching language, etc.
- Teacher application may be declined due to the unqualified document and profile.

Please check if all the languages you intend to teach are open for application.
e.g. You intend to teach 2 languages - English and Korean. If English is closed and swahili is open this week, you can only teach swahili.
Salvatore Company that now only lists English and Swahili. Since English appears in the original table as open and Swahili is not mentioned (and languages not listed are all open), both languages are marked as open for both Professional Teachers and Community Tutors.

Salvatore Company – Professional Teacher Qualification Requirements for English and Swahili
1. Demonstrating Your Qualifications
All professional teachers must demonstrate their qualifications for teaching every language they intend to teach. Currently, Salvatore Company is accepting applications only for teaching English and Swahili.
Examples:
- English:
- If you hold a certificate specifically for teaching English, it is acceptable.
- If you hold a certificate for teaching a non-English subject (e.g., history or any subject not related to English or Swahili), it is unacceptable.
- Swahili:
- If you hold a certificate specifically for teaching Swahili, it is acceptable.
- If you hold a certificate for teaching a language other than Swahili (and not English if applying for Swahili), it is unacceptable.
- Multiple Languages (English and Swahili):
- If you intend to teach both languages, you must demonstrate qualifications for each. If you only have credentials for one, you will be accepted only for that language.
2. Acceptable Documents
Salvatore Company accepts the following documents as proof of your language teaching qualifications for English and Swahili:

Accredited Language Teaching Certificate
- Must be issued by an accredited institution. The accreditation details should appear on the certificate or be available on the institution’s website.
- Examples for English: CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, TEFL (minimum of 120 hours).
- Examples for Swahili: An accredited certificate for teaching Swahili (if available).

University Degree in Language Teaching
- A degree in teaching the language as a foreign or second language (bachelor’s degree or higher).
- Note: Degrees solely in literature, linguistics, or translation/interpretation do not qualify without additional evidence of teaching skills.

Teaching License
- A national or state teaching license specific to the target language (English or Swahili).

Proof of Employment at a Language Teaching Institution
- A copy of a work contract or a reference letter from a school director or reputable teaching institution showing your employment as a professional teacher.
All documents must:
- Be signed and dated
- Display clearly visible contact information
- Indicate the dates of your employment
- Describe your responsibilities as a teacher
3. Unacceptable Documents
Salvatore Company will not accept the following as proof of language teaching qualifications:

Unaccredited Certificates
- Certificates from free online courses or training (e.g., Certificate of Achievement, Certificate of Participation, or Certificate of Accomplishment).
- Examples include courses from: Udemy, Coursera, other MOOCs, Open2Study, ALISON, or community-organized workshops.

Language Proficiency Certificates
- Documents that only demonstrate language proficiency (not teaching skills), such as IELTS, TOEFL (for English) or any equivalent exam for Swahili.
4. How Your Resume Appears on Your Salvatore Profile
None of the original documents will be published on your Salvatore profile. Students will only see a description of your qualifications, not the actual documents.
